Deantera Field Notes is a series of notes from the wine territory of Puglia: semantic, tangible, and slightly out of place. A way to search for a newer and truer narrative of wine and of everything that happens around it.
“Enough with these buds, buddy!” (Vietato Pumare) is a note on symbols, repetition, and our collective habit of mistaking what we recognize for what is true. A symbol becomes an image, an image becomes a stereotype, and eventually a place begins to look like whatever everyone expects to find there. Meanwhile, customers keep asking for pumi. Could be worse, though.

About a Bottle is a letter about weight, posture, and the collective habit of mistaking presence for substance. A bottle becomes a man, a man becomes a territory, and a territory begins to resemble the image it has produced of itself.

Slightly Mistold is the common exercise in letting things remain slightly unclear. Because what matters is not always being understood correctly, but leaving enough room for the story to become alive.
